Complete folders or individual files are supported. Then, you must drag these files to a second list and mark those you want to convert. At this point, you will ready to perform the conversion.
On the whole, the main advantage of Convert Excel to XML is derived from its capacity to convert file batches. However, in my opinion, it has no use for individual files because XML is one of the target formats supported by Microsoft Excel from the Save As command.
